I Will Remember You....Will You Remember Me?
Our beautiful girl SHEBA came to us as a kitten at 5 months of age.
Due to extreme neglect on the part of the cattery/breeder, she arrived to us a very sick kitty.
SheShe suffered from heavy parasite infestation and giardia.
She was very withdrawn, fearful and non-trusting.
Through much tender love and medical treatment, we were able to correct the parasite condition. It took almost 8 months for her to be completely well. Unfortunately this left her with chronic IBD (irritable/inflammatory bowel disorder). Very often she had to be on a restricted diet and medication. Although she was very shy with strangers, she came to trust us completely. I loved her as a mother would love her own child.
When she was at her best, she gave us several litters of beautiful babies. One of which was our fabulous girl MAIA.
One night while we were sleeping, "Miss Mommy," as we called her, made the tragic mistake of prying the lid off of the container of trail mix my daughter had sitting on our kitchen counter to take to school the following day. She consumed a large amount of seeds, and berries (nothing toxic to animals) and by the next morning she became very ill. Despite all efforts of our veterinarian, the high content of fiber proved to be too much for her already compromised system. Ten days later, we lost the battle.
We love you Miss Mommy...
